Through the adoption of a homegrown framework for community culture, we will strive to ensure full participation of all students, faculty, and staff, fostering an environment that supports their success at Carroll.

Guiding Principles: Expectations to Drive Community Culture

With the goal of building a strong and supportive organization, our behaviors, policies, procedures, and practices must be connected to and centered on all students. As contributors to the culture and success of the institution, we are committed to upholding our Ethos and goals by:

  1. Creating teams and work environments where all individuals are respected, valued, and empowered to contribute to their full potential.
  2. Continually deepening self-awareness, knowledge, and capacity to engage in meaningful dialogue about institutional culture and best practices.
  3. Using data to effectively analyze, evaluate, and revise current policies, programs, curricula, practices, and services to ensure effectiveness and continuous improvement.
  4. Developing relevant programs, curricula, processes, and services that reflect the broad range of experiences within the Carroll community.
  5. Encouraging behaviors that foster lifelong learning, skill development, and a commitment to professional and personal growth.
  6. Recognizing and addressing unproductive behaviors that may hinder collaboration, communication, and overall effectiveness.
  7. Responding constructively to feedback regarding the impact of comments, actions, and decisions.
  8. Strengthening awareness and understanding of the experiences of all members of the community at Carroll and beyond.
  9. Implementing a system of development and accountability to ensure continuous progress toward institutional excellence.
